Dr. Maher K. Tadros is Principal of e.construct.USA, LLC, a structural engineering firm in Omaha, Nebraska and Distinguished Professor Emeritus of Civil Engineering, University of Nebraska. He has has extensive design research and teaching experience. He was elected Titan of the Industry by the Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute in 2004, received the Distinguished Educator Award in 1995, and numerous other national research, design and service awards. He has 15 patents including the original NU-Tie patents for THiN-Wall in 1994. He has authored over 250 publications including one book, and has given presentations on five continents.
Mark Lafferty has been in the concrete industry since 1973, specializing in the design and production of precast/prestressed concrete. Mark started his career with General Testing Laboratory where he developed his quest for quality and his “hands on” knowledge of the many uses for and behavior of concrete products. Since then, Mark has been involved in the structural design of various types of concrete structures using both cast-in-place and precast concrete. He has also been directly responsible for estimating, marketing, sales, and management all related to the precast concrete industry. Mark is currently Vice President/General Manager of Concrete Industries, Inc. in Lincoln, Nebraska and is an active member of the Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute, PCI-Midwest, and Prestressed Concrete Association of Nebraska. He has been a licensed professional engineer since 1980.
Mr. Gremel graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Engineering Science from Colorado State University in 1984. He has been with Hughes Brothers, Inc, Seward Nebraska since 1988 and was responsible for many developments in the field of FRP Rebar since 1993. He is a full voting member of ACI committee 440 and European FIB TG9.3 and participates in CSA S807 & S806 committees. He also serves on ASTM committee D30 and is a member of the International Concrete Repair Institute. He is a full member of the IIFC, International Institute for FRP’s in Construction. Mr. Gremel is a member of the American Composites Manufacturers Association, ACMA and serves as the Chairman of the FRP Rebar Manufacturers Council. His current position is as Director, Infrastructure Solutions LLC for Owens Corning.
